Dedicated Directioner

This particular blog is important to me because I've never seen my daughter so dedicated to anything and we don't really get the chance to do much seeing as we live in the hottest place on earth, so going outside is painful in the summer. She supports One Direction no matter what and supported them before they became a big thing in the US. She either likes something or someone, or she doesn't, also doesn't care if she's teased about what she likes, it's her mind and she knows it which is a trait i love about her. With that being said,  it was my mission in life to get her to their concert on June 9, 2012. I would have been more upset than anyone if she wasn't able to go. It would have shattered her heart, because they truly make her happy, which makes me happy.  She IS the definition of a dedicated fan! She was once invited by a friend to the Billboard music awards a few days before the event and was told to buy an outfit. She even asked if there was a possibility it wouldn't work out, so that she wouldn't get her hopes up. The girl told her she was for sure going. The next day at school, the girl made up an excuse to why Cameron couldn't go. She knew she was lying, but she still smiled and told her that she completely understood. She was also told that they were going to appear at the event, so she stood in the heat for 8 hours waiting to meet them, or even get a glimpse, but they didn't appear. You could tell she was upset, but it was all for them and it didn't matter. She made the effort, and that's all that mattered to her. I was concerned because she faints when exposed to very high temperatures (we live in Vegas), but she didn't care, she just wanted to see them, just knowing that there's a possibility that they'd show up. They didn't and that was the end of that. You could tell she was crushed, but she didn't show it. That pushed me even harder to make sure she went to their concert in June. Once again, we got tickets, and her friend had to back out last minute. Luckily, she didn't mind if I went with her. I went, amazingly excited to share this experience with her and needless to say, she had a great time, and so did I. (you can watch the montage of the concert she put together here.. Did I mention she's also self taught editor?) That was the start of the fun I knew we were going to have with this group that my daughter was obsessed with, which brought us to this blog. It's much more fun hanging out with your daughter when she isn't embarrassed of you, and we had a great girl's night out!  We're looking forward to many more of those times. Until next time.....

A new way to bond

I started this blog so my daughter and I had something we could do together and stick with, as I have a bad habit of starting things and never finishing. Needless to say, I wanted to make a mother-daughter blog, but we had no idea what to make it about. Cameron has always been a very good writer and comes up with ideas that not even grown adults would come up with. We both agreed that a mother-daughter blog would be the best outlet not only for our relationship, but for fun. I really believe that my daughter is destined to be in the arts, whether it be an actress, singer, author, etc.. This was very apparent from the time she was 2 years old. I think it would be a shame if we didn't take this opportunity try to do this together. In this day and age, it's very important to have a relationship with your kids, and this is something that is a bonding experience, not to mention fun! We hope that we can entertain you and put a smile on your face as you read our posts, and maybe help you build a relationship with your children, as they grow up fast! As our blog entries progress, you'll learn more and more about the two of us. We hope that you'll continue to read and enjoy our posts with your friends and family, and get a laugh or two. x
